Caucasus Regional Policy
Symposium 4 sponsored by the US department of State and the
Starr Foundation and hosted by IREX and Woodrow Wilson International
Center for Scholars was held in Virginia, March 26-28, 2004.
The Symposium discussed political processes in the Caucasian
region, Russia, Iran, Turkey politics in the region, as well
as the issues related to security challenges, economic, trade,
environmental developments, human rights, ethnic conflicts,
legal reforms, current state of relations with the West and
so on.
Nariman Gasimoglu,
Chairman of Religion and Democracy Center had a speech at the
Symposium. His presentation was dedicated to the adaptation
processes Islamic religion goes through in the contemporary
political realities of the region
